The Origins of Archmage Studios...

Archmage Studios has been a concept and dream of mine for several years. It originally started back in my high school days when I was dead set on becoming a comic book artist.

Around that time is when Todd McFarlane, Marc Silvestri, Rob Leifield, Eric Larsen, and Jim Lee struck out against "Big Brother" in the comic industry and decided to form Image Comics. A company made up of comic book creators and artists, for creators and artists. They all started their own respective studios within Image Comics. This idea really appealed to me, so... Archmage Studios was born.

The name wasn't easy to come up with. So I decided to take a look around me to see what was really meaningful that I could use for a name. I have always been and still am an avid role-player (Dungeons & Dragons, etc.). One of my favorite characters that I have ever played goes by the name of Alorin Trazztiakt. And in his original game environment (Rolemaster) his profession is that of an Archmage. Connect point A to point B...

I have often wondered though if it would be more appropriate to truncate the "Studios" part to just "Studio." I mean, there's only one of me. I just like the sound of "Studios" better.

My concept now days for Archmage Studios has grown much larger though. I would love to someday turn it into a full production house. Comics, cartoons, movies...you name it. I do not know if this shall come to pass or not, but hey, it's a great dream ain't it? And what is life worth without having a few dreams?
